Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam today said the expansion of the council of advisers will help speed up the works of the interim government.

"The expansion of the council of advisers will increase the pace of the government's works," he told.

Alam said: "All those who have become advisers today are well known in their respective fields. We hope they will be able to contribute to the country with their talent and thoughts."

Earlier, three more advisers took oath at Bangabhaban here this evening.

The newly sworn-in advisers are businessman Sheikh Bashir Uddin, cultural personality and filmmaker Mostofa Sarowar Farooki and special assistant to the chief adviser Mahfuj Alam.
With these three, the total number of advisers rose to 24.

On August 8, Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus took oath as the chief adviser of Bangladesh’s interim government after the fall of Awami League government on August 5 in a student-led mass uprising.
